“THORNBURY AMATEUR DRAMATIC SOCIETY is proud to present its Spring production – “The Memory of Water” by Shelagh Stephenson.
A powerful and funny play, it tells the story of three sisters: Mary (a doctor), Teresa (a business woman), and Catherine (a free spirit), who return to their family home In Yorkshire on the eve of their mother’s funeral. When they meet, grief causes the conflicts and memories of the past to re-emerge. The result is a roller-coaster of emotions, veering from the darkly dramatic to the wryly humorous. As the sisters reacquaint with each other, hidden secrets are revealed through laughter and sorrow. The author won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy in 2000 for this, her first stage play. The play contains a little strong language.
The show opens on Wednesday 30th March 2011 at the Cossham Hall and runs until Saturday 2nd April 2011 with curtain up at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the Garden Shop in the High Street, Thornbury, ticket prices are £7 for adults and £6 for concessions.”
